GeoGRAFX GIS Services and Moonlite Systems Combine Resources
(Feb 2012, Tucson) Moonlite Systems & GeoGRAFX GIS Services recently formed a new company, GeoGRAFX and Moonlite Enterprises, LLC (GaMe) to focus on using the best of both companies to enhance their current services and to expand their offerings initially to the mining community.
Founded in 1991, GeoGRAFX GIS Services is one of the leading providers of computer-based data integration, management and presentation services spanning the entire spectrum of mineral exploration and mining industry needs. GeoGRAFX provides cost effective solutions for various earth science and geotechnical applications with a special emphasis on providing timely results, decision support, and intelligent maps.
Formed in 2007, Moonlite Systems is a company founded by George Moon to share his extensive experience spanning start-up companies to leading large international teams. Moonlite provides opportunities to improve the technical management of any company through written material, consulting, workshops, and seminars. George has provided insights to several companies that have resulted in an improved bottom line.
George has over thirty years of experience in the fields of technical management and leadership. He has served in various executive positions at Wild, Prime Computer, Unisys, MapInfo and his own successful businesses. He is a published author, multiple U.S. software patent holder, a 2008 inventor of the year for Pitney Bowes, led core groups of advanced developers and researchers worldwide, and he is a Fellow of Calumet College.
“George Moon is a dynamic speaker, who engages his audience, and challenges them to think about their own experiences and their own lessons learned.” says Barbara Carroll, president of GeoGRAFX. “In the six months we have been working with George, we have significantly increased our bottom line, based on his suggestions. No small feat in this economy.”
The exciting first new project for GaMe is a web map application. The initial product is aimed at the mining and exploration industry to improve their sharing of relevant data. The web map application offers the client the ability to view important information concerning a specific mining or exploration project. This includes such things as a selection of basemaps, geologic features, drillhole locations and data, and section lines. GaMe will provide employment opportunities including interns from the University of Arizona MS-GIST program. “I am looking forward to help build the careers of students of the MS-GIST program and give them a chance to work with some of the brightest software architects in the industry. Both Barbara and I believe this is a great way to give back to the community.” commented George Moon, president of Moonlite Systems.

The new company will also take advantage of Barbara’s extensive skills and expertize in making complex geologic displays and models relevant and George’s years of experience in leading technical teams that he brings to his workshops and seminars to serve an expanding customer base in meeting their business needs for timely information and growth.
